  • It’s really just not a good game. Lacks balance and purpose.

I like these types of games and wanted to give this one a good review, but after extensive playing, it just falls short of, well, everything. The game is built entirely on frustration mechanics. Raids are meant to frustrate you, there’s no skill involved and your opponent will always gain mana faster than you can because they gain it every time you strike them. The summoning machine is meant to frustrate you with its alarmingly low rarity rates. The time it takes to upgrade buildings (1.7 days to upgrade my keep right now??) is meant to frustrate you enough that you’ll cough up $20 worth of gems just to complete it faster. I’m constantly leaving the game because I’ve run out of energy and the refresh rates are just plain dumb. I could go on and on. There are other games out there like Puzzles and Dragons or even Brave Frontier with a lot more player events that help you build your lineup faster with heroes that actually help you. There’s a reason why PAD has lasted this long and continues to be awesome, because they treat their players fairly and offer a game that doesn’t rely entirely on frustrating RNG. But Empires has ignored those acceptable and FAIR mechanics and decided to go the frustration route. It’s not even subtle, they are pretty blatant about it throughout the game. The cost of gems and what you get for spending gems is so disproportionate. Sadly it’s just another game (and company) that has settled for delivering addiction tactics over fun gameplay. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because at least this game isn’t as bad as Legendary Game of Heroes, which is more of a store and advertisement than a game. But, Empires seems to be headed that way. Such a wasted development effort, they really could have delivered something special. Get over yourselves and do what’s right for your players instead of your pockets.

  • Not bad

Not a bad game. I do enjoy the simple fight scenes and when the gems turns into little fighters. All and all 4 out of 5
  • Slow leveling

    By JesseX1
Great game, with one major flaw. The leveling system is very slow and grueling, also I’ve spent a small amount of money to buy some gems and even with doing that and trying to get Elemental Summons I was only able to get what I already had, no 4 or 5 star summons. Leveling hero’s takes a while and each level increases stats in a minor amount, usually 1-2 at a time. Same with the troops.

  • Too much fun

Very fun.. but it’s like a marriage be ready for the long commitment.. I have been playing g mmorpg games for years this is nothing new to me for time sinks.. but wish they would work on the reset timers for energy.
  • Great concept

I’ve played a few games similar, but this is a pretty unique compilation. In-app-purchases are suggested but never required. The connect-3 feature can allow a lucky low-level to take on an unlucky higher-level. Great way to kill some time without worrying about losing all your effort.
  • Don’t bother inviting friends to play

    By GrapeApe38
This app would have 5* but the new invite friends to play is a dud. My friend downloaded the app through my invite and according to the game, my friend did not start play through the invite. The dev really can’t come off 10 days of VIP pass??? Wth. Very ticked.
  • Gamble and pure luck, expensive one...

    By Peky_69
This game doesn't have anything with RPG, there's no strategy at all... You can only rely on luck, that'd bring you nowhere or on gems, that's gonna empty your valet in a week... Stronger players are destroying weaker ones, matching is horrible, it's totally normal that level 30 attacks level 5 and as level 5 you're gonna get level 30 as an opponent... Advancing is impossible without (extremely expensive) gems... It's more like casino games than RPG... TBH, I don't know why it's in the RPG category in the first place since it's the same as playing slots or video poker... Too greedy company and on top of that they're stealing on purchases too, purchase visible in iTunes, but not in the game and support is just awful... Not helping at all... Overall 0 stars, since it isn't possible in a review, I've to give it 1... Stay away, unless you're having too much money that you don't know what to do with... I'm talking about too much money as for mortgage or so...
  • Well done but update issues
